Ground Fault
Circuit Interrupters or GFCI Receptacles are receptacles designed to use in
wet locations to protect you from electrocution. It monitors the amount of
current flowing from hot to neutral. If an imbalance is detected, the GFCI
shuts power to the receptacle in as little as 1/30th of a second. the
National Electric code requires these to be used in kitchens, bathrooms,
basements and outdoors.
